A longer arc

May through October — a five-month program with more time to root, integrate, and practice between the live phases.

This is where I do my most powerful work with you. I hold the cohort and coach one-by-one. Receive personalized guidance to self-inquire, reframe, and untangle your stickiest questions and experiences. Witness your fellow storytellers as they do their guided inquiry work. This is our weekly conditioning class. Experience my beloved community-building practices, gentle somatic exercises, and my famous channeled prompts - always original, always timely. Our protected writing time is where you AI-proof your thinking & writing. Our small-group breakout rooms let you gather & deepen cohort relationships around shared interests, learning goals, and stories.

Do Your Work-shops 

 

Guided co-working spaces with access to Joey's eyes, heart, and brain. I structure a 2-hour working deep dive around powerful creation objectives. We flow between somatic support, guided thinking & writing processes, focused creative flow, space to be witnessed, and strategic feedback. You leave with something defined and shareable in your hands.

The Community Platform 

 

The digital space that holds you in community the whole way. It's been described as a beautiful public park by past Sovereign Storytellers. This platform contains channels for publishing your stories, connecting with story friends, deepening our ongoing dialogue, asking your async questions & receiving personalized support, and jumping into pop-up lives with me. This space stays open the whole 6-month arc.

Integration Assignments 

 

Practicum work designed to integrate the learning into your muscle memory, scaffolded to expand your capacity as we go. This is where input flows to output sustainably. Each assignment is tiered — exercise your sovereignty to make each assignment meet your season and desire. I give you the accountability and accessibility to cultivate at the edge of your expansion. You do the work that roots your becoming into your greatest visions.

The SS 3.0 Architecture

SS 3.0 runs May through October with an intentional design: two live phases bookending a summer of self-directed integration, held by weekly guest teacher sessions throughout.

Flow Within

 

Our voice and self-expression desire flow. When we meet friction or stuck points, something within us requires attention — parts of us in conflict, making it difficult to move forward. Flow Within guides you through a process based in Focusing-Oriented Therapy (FOT), tending to those parts with compassion and genuine curiosity. You emerge with greater self-trust and the capacity to make empowered choices that honor yourself & your community.

Heartwork

 

An invitation to intentionally practice looking at and embodying what is on your heart. Through teaching & sharing, meditation, light breathwork, somatic movement, and journaling, you'll build the capacity to hear your intuition. Grounded in the spirit of kapwa — the Filipino belief that your identity is woven into mine, and mine into yours — this is deeply personal work held within the quiet recognition that we belong to one another.

Hey, I'm Joey.

 

I'm a story teacher, curriculum designer, and educator-activist with a Ph.D. in Culture & Curriculum. For nearly two decades, I've helped people transform their lived experiences into  creations and power. I believe in shaping the world with our shared their wisdom —  without selling out our dignity, values, or humanity.

My work centers people from the Global Majority and those shaped by systemic oppression. Decades of teaching liberatory pedagogy to thousands of humans has equipped me with a particular capacity to help people of all backgrounds move beyond shame, disconnection, and freeze into better relationships with self, place, community, and purpose.

I teach story work as an ancestral practice and a tool for collective liberation. Sovereign Storyteller is the live, co-constructed expression of that work — the place where methodology becomes embodied practice, held in REAL community.

What's different about SS 3.0 compared to previous cohorts?

SS 3.0 is the most expanded version of the program: longer arc (May–October vs. 3 months), three guest teachers integrated throughout, two coaching calls per week with Joey during the live phases, and a formal alumni path (Sovereignty) for those who want to continue after the cohort closes. Starting with this cycle, the live cohort also runs annually rather than twice a year.

 

 

What is the summer integration period?

June 30 through August 22 is a lower-demand period by design — no scheduled weekly coaching calls, so you can travel, rest, work, and integrate without the pressure of a recurring calendar commitments. Joey remains present throughout: async coaching continues via the community, and pop-up live sessions may appear. Guest teacher sessions continue weekly. Plenty of space to move through the self-paced curriculum and ongoing integration assignments. 

 

 

What times are the live calls?

Call times are determined during onboarding based on the cohort's time zones. In past cohorts, M/Th at 6pm PST / 9pm EST / 10am Tokyo worked well for our global community. With two call slots per week in SS 3.0, we have more flexibility to accommodate a range of time zones.

Is there a refund policy?
